अनन्तश्चास्मि नागानां वरुणो यादसामहम् । पितॄणामर्यमा चास्मि यमः संयमतामहम् ॥ २९ ॥
anantaś cāsmi nāgānāṃ varuṇo yādasām aham pitṝṇām aryamā cāsmi yamaḥ saṃyamatām aham

And I am Ananta of Nâgas, Varuna of sea-dwellers I; and of ancestors Aryaman; Yama of governors am I.

Explanation
Yama’s inclusion here as ruler of restraint quietly sets up verse 34’s “all-devouring Death am I” — the same figure named twice, once by office (governance, regulation) and once by function (death itself).
