पवनः पवतामस्मि रामः शस्त्रभृतामहम् । झषाणां मकरश्चास्मि स्रोतसामस्मि जाह्नवी ॥ ३१ ॥

pavanaḥ pavatām asmi rāmaḥ śastrabhṛtām aham jhaṣāṇāṃ makaraś cāsmi srotasām asmi jāhnavī

Translation

Of purifiers I am the wind; Rama of warriors I; and I am Makara of fishes; of streams the Gangâ am I.

Annie Besant · The Bhagavad-Gita, translated by Annie Besant (4th ed., 1922) — Wikisource · Public Domain

Explanation

The wind among purifiers, Rama among warriors, the makara among fish, and the Ganga among rivers. A named, geographically specific river standing alongside abstractions like time and consciousness elsewhere in the list shows how wide a net “vibhuti” is meant to cast.
